The Last Diet Advice You Will Ever Need in 10 Steps
Dr. Seuss should have written a diet book...Oh the last diet you will ever need, maybe you should eat a seed, water is all that you will drink, grow so hungry, you can't think!
How was that? I agree it is terrible!
Yes, dieting is about deprivation and I never lost weight and kept it off on any kind of diet, except for one. No, I am not selling a book. Yes, I will spill my guts and tell you how I lost mine. I've had four kids and put on exactly thirty-eight pounds with each and lost it slowly over time...well, not completely.
I held onto a few pounds with each kid and despite working out and dieting I did not lose those extra pounds. In fact, every time I worked out it made me more hungry. So, I would get stronger but not thinner.
I wanted to get thinner in a healthy way. I finally lost the weight and it worked for me. I believe that this is the only true way to lose extra fat, keep muscle and stay healthy. Are you ready? Are you excited? You should be! This is it...the last diet advice you will ever need:
Stop lying to yourself...you are eating more than you think, and drinks count, snacks count, dressing counts, eating off of your kid's plate, diet food counts, restaurants count, standing up counts, food after working out counts.
Forgive yourself...okay you are human and not a machine, and you don't have to be perfectly disciplined or look like a ridiculous air-brushed super-model, it is okay to mess up..it is what we all do!
Love yourself...really love yourself. This is not bull. You are totally loving and loveable and awesome and good and powerful and giving and smart.
Never put anything in your body without love...and this means you need to ask yourself every time you put something in your body if it has chemicals in it that are bad for you. Live as organically, pure and chemical free as possible.
Believe in your Self-Worth...your emotional state is directly related to your metabolism. I honestly believe that the cookie I made with love and eat with love holds less fat making potential then the store-bought one I cram in my mouth and pretend has no chemicals and eat with guilt.
Believe you are beautiful right now as you are, because you are a child of the universe, a perfect creative being who has everything needed to shine in a life you deserve.
Ignore negative people...there is no soul above or below your own soul and you do not need to judge or be judged by anyone.
Journal...even if you never have before and it is a few words a day.
Give yourself something special every single day...but this is not something you will eat/drink. This is a bubble bath, a nap, a run, a phone call to a far away friend, a time to make art, a trip to the park with your new puppy, a good book, yoga to destress...whatever you like. And finally...
Throw away your scale and your measuring tape. Yes, you will still notice that your waist is slimming down, but does it matter if it is two or three or only one pound you lose this week? Do we have to weigh ourselves like pieces of meat? Don't we constantly measure our worth in society enough by ridiculous things? Stop weighing and measuring your body.
Just love your body. Love is all we need, and it is not for sale and that is why my advice is free. I love that I lost the weight and yes several dress sizes because I finally got it! I love that I can share my success and love with you. When friends and strangers started asking me what I was doing to lose weight I always told them I invented a new diet..the "I love me diet." I promise it is the only one you will ever need.
